(товарный рынок) Рынок, на котором ведется торговля товарами (Commodities). Основные конечные товарные рынки (terminal markets) находятся в Лондоне и Нью-Йорке, однако главные рынки некоторых товаров расположены в странах происхождения этих товаров. Сделки по отдельным товарам, например по чаю, заключаются на аукционах с обязательным изучением дилерами каждого предлагаемого на продажу лота, однако большинство дилеров имеет дело с товарами, которые уже разделены на группы в соответствии с устоявшимися стандартами качества. По таким товарам на товарных биржах (commodity exchanges) заключаются сделки как с наличным товаром (actuals), так и фьючерсные сделки (см.: futures contract( фьючерсный контракт)), часто методом ежедневных сборов (саllо-vers), на которых дилеры представлены товарными брокерами (Commodity brokers). Многие товарные биржи предлагают опционные сделки с фьючерсами (Option) с расчетами по разнице в суммах фьючерсов через клиринговую палату (Clearing house). В связи с тем, что товарные цены могут испытывать сильные колебания, товарные биржи дают покупателям и продавцам возможность хеджирования (hedging) в отношениях со спекулянтами и инвесторами со стороны, что позволяет поддерживать активность на рынке, хотя новичкам не рекомендуется играть на товарных биржах. Колебания товарных цен создают для развивающихся стран, откуда поступают многие товары, значительные проблемы, поскольку экспорт товаров часто является для этих стран важным источником поступления иностранной валюты, от которого зависит их экономическое благосостояние. Для ограничения ценовых колебаний принимались разные меры, однако ни одна из них не привела к полному успеху.
